How to Use WebFTP
Alpacon's WebFTP feature provides a browser-based interface for managing files on remote servers.
Users can upload, download, move, copy, and delete files or folders directly from the web, without needing a separate WebFTP client.
This guide walks through the basic usage of the WebFTP interface.
1. Selecting a Server
- Click the Select server button at the top of the WebFTP page.
- A list of available remote servers will appear.
- Select the desired server and click Open to initiate the session.
Upon successful connection, you’ll begin in the user’s home directory.
Folder access may be restricted based on your permissions.
2. Navigating Directories
- Use the left-hand directory tree or click on the path bar at the top to move between directories.
- Each segment of the path bar is clickable, allowing for quick navigation to parent or nested directories.
3. Uploading Files and Folders
You can upload files or folders from your local device to the remote server using one of the following methods:
- Click File upload or Folder upload from the left sidebar
- Drag and drop items directly into the browser window
Files are uploaded to the currently selected directory.
