View and edit users
View all workspace users and edit their information.
View user list
How to access
- Click IAM > Users in left sidebar
- All registered users are displayed
Displayed information
The following information is shown for each user:
- Name
- Email address
- Role (User/Staff/Superuser)
- Account status (Active/Inactive)
Search users
Quickly find users using the search bar at the top.
Searchable fields:
- Name
- Email address
- Username
Filter users
Click Filter button to filter by criteria:
- Role: User, Staff, Superuser
- Status: Active, Inactive
User details
Open detail page
- Click user name in the user list
- Navigate to user detail page
Overview tab
Basic information:
- Username (cannot change)
- Phone
- Description
- UID (system assigned)
- Shell (default shell)
- Home Directory
- Role
Activity summary:
- Date joined
- Last sign-in
- Websh session usage
- WebFTP transfer volume
Group membership:
- List of groups user belongs to
Activity tab
This tab is only accessible to the user themselves and Staff/Superuser.
View user activity history in chronological order:
- Time
- IP address
- Action (login, server access, config changes, etc.)
- Result (HTTP status code)
- Details
Roles tab
Roles assigned to this user. Each entry shows the role name, scope information (resource type and object ID if scoped), and whether the assignment is limited to a specific resource.
Assign a role:
- Click Assign role
- Select a Role from the dropdown
- Optionally, configure the scope to limit the role to a specific resource
- Save
Remove a role assignment:
Select the assignment and click Remove assignment to remove it.
Built-in roles are automatically assigned and cannot be removed from this tab.
Edit user information
Required permission: Staff or Superuser
Modify information
- Click Update button on user detail page
- Modify in Quick View panel:
- First name, Last name
- Phone
- Authority (Role)
- Click Save
Change role
Considerations when changing roles:
User → Staff/Superuser:
- Admin privileges granted
- Decide carefully
Staff/Superuser → User:
- Admin privileges removed
- Server access becomes limited
⚠️ Superuser role:
- Can delete workspace
- Can change all settings
- Grant very carefully
Setting a user to Staff automatically assigns the RBAC admin role, and setting a user to Superuser automatically assigns the superuser role.
Reset password
Alpacon Cloud
Only users themselves can change passwords:
- Click username dropdown in top right
- Security settings > Password
Self-hosted
Admins can reset user passwords:
- Click Reset password on user detail page
- Enter current password (if required)
- Set new password
Permissions by role

| Staff | Manage users/groups, access some settings |
| Superuser | All permissions, full workspace control |
