Assign users to groups

Add users to groups to manage server access permissions.

Add member

  1. Select group in IAM > Groups
  2. Click Add member
  3. Select users to add
  4. Select role for each user:
    • Owner: Full group control
    • Manager: Group management
    • Member: Server access only
  5. Click Save

Group roles

Each user in a group has one of three roles:

Owner

Permissions:

  • Full control over the group
  • Add and remove members
  • Assign roles to members
  • Configure group settings
  • Delete the group

Important: Each group must have at least one Owner. Cannot remove the last Owner.

Manager

Permissions:

  • Add and remove members
  • Configure group settings

Use case: Delegate group management without giving full control

Member

Permissions:

  • Access servers assigned to the group

Use case: Standard users who only need server access

Remove member of group

  1. In group detail page member list
  2. Select user to remove (multiple selection allowed)
  3. Click Remove

Effect: User loses access to servers assigned to that group
