Assign users to groups
Add users to groups to manage server access permissions.
Add member
- Select group in IAM > Groups
- Click Add member
- Select users to add
- Select role for each user:
- Owner: Full group control
- Manager: Group management
- Member: Server access only
- Click Save
Group roles
Each user in a group has one of three roles:
Owner
Permissions:
- Full control over the group
- Add and remove members
- Assign roles to members
- Configure group settings
- Delete the group
Important: Each group must have at least one Owner. Cannot remove the last Owner.
Manager
Permissions:
- Add and remove members
- Configure group settings
Use case: Delegate group management without giving full control
Member
Permissions:
- Access servers assigned to the group
Use case: Standard users who only need server access
Remove member of group
- In group detail page member list
- Select user to remove (multiple selection allowed)
- Click Remove
Effect: User loses access to servers assigned to that group
