Username management
Username is the name used as a UNIX user account when connecting to servers within an Alpacon workspace.
Initial username
When a user first enters a workspace, their username is not set.
Users without a username are displayed as Unset in the username field of the user list.
Setting username
A username is required to use the following features that access servers:
- Websh
- WebFTP
- Deploy shell
When attempting to access these features without a username set, a Set username modal will be displayed.
Setup procedure
- Enter desired username and submit
- Await approval
- If approval is required: You must wait for administrator approval to use the feature.
- If approval is not required: Username is immediately available for use.
- Complete
If username approval is required, an approval request email is sent to administrators.
Until approval is completed, an approval pending modal will be displayed when accessing features.
Once approved, you can immediately use the features.
