Create groups
Create groups to organize users and manage access permissions.
What are groups?
User groups bundle multiple users together for server access management.
Use cases:
- Team-based server access (frontend-team, backend-team)
- Project-based organization (project-alpha, project-beta)
- Role-based separation (developers, admins, viewers)
How to create
- Go to IAM > Groups
- Click New group button
- Enter group information:
- Name: Name the group will use on servers (e.g.,
developers-team) - Display name: Group identifier name (e.g.,
Developers Team) - Description: Description of group purpose (optional)
- Name: Name the group will use on servers (e.g.,
- Click Save
Naming rules
- Use lowercase, numbers, hyphens(-), underscores(_)
- No spaces allowed
- Use meaningful names
