# Terminal keyboard shortcuts

Key keyboard shortcuts available in Websh terminal.

## Copy and paste

Copy and paste behavior depends on your operating system and the **Copy and paste** preset you choose in [Websh settings](/use/settings/websh/#input) (default: **Standard**).

**macOS**

| Shortcut | Function |
| ------------ | ----------------------------------------------- |
| ⌘C | Copy the current selection |
| ⌘V | Paste |
| Right-click | Opens the browser's Copy/Paste menu |

**Windows and Linux (Standard preset)**

| Shortcut | Function |
| ---------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Ctrl+Shift+C | Copy the current selection |
| Ctrl+Shift+V, Shift+Insert | Paste |
| Right-click | Windows: copies the selection, or pastes if nothing is selected. Linux: opens the browser's Copy/Paste menu. |

**Ctrl+C with a selection**: On Windows, Ctrl+C copies the current selection by default; with nothing selected it still sends the interrupt signal, same as always. This can be turned on for Linux or off for Windows in [Websh settings](/use/settings/websh/#input). It isn't available on macOS, which uses ⌘C instead.

**PuTTY preset**: Selecting text with the mouse copies it immediately, and right-click pastes—no keyboard shortcut needed.

**Safari and Firefox**: Pasting with a shortcut or right-click may show a **Paste** button near your cursor instead of pasting right away—click it to allow the paste. If you dismiss it without clicking, nothing is pasted; use the shortcut again, or right-click and choose **Paste** from the browser menu.

**Multi-line paste**: Pasting text with more than one line asks for confirmation first, since each line runs as soon as it's pasted. Turn this off with **Confirm multi-line paste** in [Websh settings](/use/settings/websh/#input).

## Zoom and open links

| Shortcut | Function |
| ---------------------------------- | -------------------------------- |
| Ctrl/⌘ + | Increase font size |
| Ctrl/⌘ - | Decrease font size |
| Ctrl/⌘ 0 | Reset font size |
| Ctrl/⌘-click or middle-click a link | Open it in a new tab |

A plain click on a link in the terminal output does nothing—this avoids opening links by accident while you work.
