Feature scope per platform
Linux and macOS expose Alpacon’s full feature set, including user and group management and Unix-style permission changes (chmod / chown). Windows servers support a subset, and some features need a minimum Alpamon version. Windows servers lists them in one table and covers the SYSTEM permission model, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
Ubuntu 25.10 and later (including 26.04) ship sudo-rs as the default sudo. Alpacon supports it for sudo with MFA, which requires the alpamon-pam package version 1.1.2 or later. See Compatibility with sudo-rs, and PAM and sudo issues for troubleshooting.
Windows differences
Windows has a different account and permission model. Review the Windows feature and identity reference before granting access.
Installation prerequisites
The host needs administrator privileges, outbound HTTPS access, 150 MB of free disk space, and 128 MB of available RAM. See Install Alpamon for the full checklist.
